Since 2002, the European Personnel Selection Office (EPSO) is responsible for selecting highly qualified staff to work for the European institutions including:

- The Council of the European Union;
- The European Commission;
- The Court of Justice of the European Union;
- The European Court of Auditors;
- The European Economic and Social Committee;
- The European Committee of the Regions;
- The European Ombudsman ;

Other European bodies are also regularly publishing job vacancies, including

The European institutions and agencies are also regularly recruiting contracting agents for a vast range of profiles (secretariat, finance, law, political affairs) via the CAST Permanent procedure. Candidacies can be submitted via a dedicated website.
The European External Action Service (EEAS) and the European Commission have established a high-level traineeship programme, the Junior Professional in Delegation (JPD), which gives an opportunity to highly qualified junior professionals from EU Member States to work in EU Delegations worldwide. Twice a year, the Commission offers 950 five-month paid, administrative or translation internships. Starting on 1 March or 1 October, interns gain hands-on experience in EU policymaking in a multicultural environment. For more information, see the Commission website.
